POSTCARD POETRY FESTIVAL: August 8, 2012

Finally, I am able to write a poem according to the suggestion of taking a prompt from a postcard received.  The first postcard poem I received was from Tina Posner in Austin, Texas.   It was a handmade card with a cat on the front.

My response was this:

stab sharp beak.

raven squawks,

cleans up your mess.

beak pokes

into human discard

abandoned burger

mustard smeared

faux meat

stabs and tidies up

road kill.

startle you?
